Cavern

Player fighting off Skeletons in a Cavern.

Caves and Caverns are naturally occurring features in the games CastleMiner and CastleMiner Z. Caves and Caverns are sometimes small or huge underground open areas filled with dark areas.

Caves[]

Caves are small tunnels that usually travel straight forward and are found under hills, close to the surface. They can contain ores such as Copper Ore and Iron Ore but usually never have Gold Ore or Diamonds. They can also be used as tunnels for Skeletons to catch the player when they least expect it. Caves are made entirely of Rock. To better lighten up the cave areas, place Torches or Lanterns.

Caverns[]

Caverns are rather very large open areas underground and lead straight down most of the time. They contain Coal, Copper Ore, Iron Ore, Gold Ore, and sometimes Diamonds. The enemies in Caverns that are about 2000-3000 distance away are very strong. Skeleton types include Axe Skeleton, Skeleton Archers, and Green Skeletons. Some caverns have been known to lead all the way to the Underworld. Caverns are largely made of Rock. To have better chances of surviving in a cavern, place Torches or Lanterns to prevent enemies from sneaking up on you.

Trivia[]

  • Caves and Caverns actually fill up about 15% of CastleMiner and CastleMiner Z's playable space.
  • Caves and Caverns can be scary (and dangerous) to players because of how dark they are. Placing Lanterns can help.
  • Players will encounter a Cavern or Cave about 40% of the time when they play CastleMiner Z.
  • Some Caves in the Mountains at 2500 distance are made of Snow. More Gold Ore than usual can be found in these Snow Caves.
